Local 44 WFFF-TV and Local 22 WVNY-TV in Burlington, Vermont, has an immediate opening for a Photographer and back-up Director.
The Photographer will be responsible for executing live shots using microwave, satellite, or TVU technology. The candidate will often one-man-band to gather news content, as well as shoot alongside a reporter on a regular basis. The Photographer should be proficient in shot composition and lighting, and digital editing. We shoot on both Panasonic and JVC cameras.
This position will also train to serve as a back-up to our newscast Technical Directors, coordinating the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions. We have a brand new studio and graphics, and an upgraded Ignite production system.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Shoots video for news reports
2.Set us, composes and executes video shots
3.Maintains video equipment
4.Edits for newscasts using Bit Central Create and Adobe Premiere Software.
5.Operates live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations Observes pictures through monitors, and used robotic cameras to adjust composition
6.Acts as a liaison between engineering and production departments
7.Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast Switches video sources during live broadcasts
8.Tests equipment to ensure proper operation Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Minimum two years experience in news operations, production or videography e Proficiency with broadcast control equipment • Proficiency with video cameras and equipment e Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
