WCVB a Boston network affiliate is seeking a Part-Time proven Broadcast/IT Engineer to provide hands-on maintenance of all broadcast and IT based broadcast equipment.

Responsibilities
*
Installing, troubleshooting and repairing a wide variety of digital and analog and IP based broadcast equipment.

*System installation and configuration.

*Component level diagnostic troubleshooting and bench repair skills, including circuit analysis and component soldering are daily tasks.

*Implementing projects, designs and technology successfully.

*Component level diagnostic troubleshooting and bench repair skills, including circuit analysis and component soldering are daily tasks.

*Providing technical expertise for various systems and equipment.

*Interfacing with other departments, vendors, suppliers, contractors and others at all levels.

*Tasks may include prolonged outdoor exposure, climbing and working from ladders and other lift devices.  

Qualifications
*An in-depth knowledge of the facility and the interconnectivity of all broadcast systems and their use is crucial to all shifts.

*Understanding of video transport codecs, IP infrastructures and ancillary data functions.

*Operation, maintenance and repair of RF systems, to include but not limited to satellite, microwave and broadcast transmitters are further requirements.

*The ability to read and draw schematic diagrams is required.

*The shift(s) will perform other duties as assigned by management and will work with management to develop procedural policy and communicate the same to all other Maintenance Technicians.

*The ability to work successfully as part of a team.

*The ability to lift 50 lbs. 

Experience
*Expert knowledge of all station production, production IP and transmission equipment & systems.

*Work at remote locations away from WCVB’s studio facility is regularly assigned.

*Frequent movement, a high level of hand and physical dexterity is required.

*Task work in standing, sitting, kneeling and prone positions is required.

*Ability to use small hand tools effectively, including soldering tools.

*Working knowledge of audio/video technologies, both digital and analog.

Education
*
Associate’s degree in engineering and/or equivalent industry experience.
