ETRS – Part 2

Print(August 15, 2006) – An August 26th deadline is looming for all radio & TV stations, and cable franchises, to fill out the first of three forms in the FCC’s new EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) online database.

Earlier this month N.H. broadcasters should have received an e-mail attachment version of their authorized EAS monitoring assignments.  As that list points out, the vast majority of N.H. stations are Participating National (NP) stations in the state EAS Plan.  You’ll need that information to fill out Form One.

Stations also need to know their Geographic Zone of Service, a new term the FCC is using.  Since our state EAS plan has doesn’t use operational areas, stations should enter their county (or counties) of primary service.

The following slide is from an FCC webinar that explains what stations are NOT subject to the ETRS requirements.
