Established in 1954, the New Hampshire Association (NHAB) of Broadcasters is the only voluntary, statewide trade organization serving the Granite State's over-the-air radio and television stations. The Association's key responsibilities include assisting its members with general and broadcast-specific business challenges and assisting in the networking of fellow broadcasters. The NHAB aims to promote broadcasting as a viable and exciting career choice by offering annual scholarships and maintaining an online database of available jobs for individuals searching for a career in radio or television, as well as the opportunity to post a resume online.

JIM JEANNOTTE NAMED 2012 BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR

Jim Jeannotte, host of Granite State Challenge and "The Voice" of UNH sports, was named the 2012 Broadcaster of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters. The award was presented at the Association's Annual Granite Mikes awards night on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Southern New Hampshire University.

Jim Jeannotte began his broadcasting career in high school winning back to back "Junior Sportscaster of the Year" awards. He later began his play-by-play career covering high school sports for WKNE in Keene, NH before catching on at hometown WKXL-AM in Concord. He won his first Sportscaster of the Year award in 1969. Jim began broadcasting University of New Hampshire sports in 1974 and in 1981 became "The Voice" of UNH sports, where he has broadcast UNH hockey, football and basketball on radio and New Hampshire Public Television ever since.

Jim is a 23 time New Hampshire Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, winning his 2nd straight award in 2011 and a state-record 23 overall. In 2002 he was inducted into the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Hall of Fame.

He was also awarded the George C. Carens Award in 2010 by the New England Football Writers for contributions to New England College football and he won the Joan Leitzel Award winner in 2012 - given to a person who has made key contributions to the lives of UNH student-athletes.

Outside of sports, Jeannotte has gained state-wide fame as the long-time host of Granite State Challenge, a trivia show where New Hampshire high school teams compete head-to-head. In 2013, Granite State Challenge will begin its 29th season on New Hampshire Public Television.
